DigiScribe version 22.03.00 "Import or Stream" 05/27/09 1159pm 1. Added additional movie file support into new installation package. 2. Renamed Browse feature to Stream, and added an Import feature to allow importing of files from media into the Available Work list. 3. Added a "Delete Original File After Import" feature in the Toolbox in support of the new Import feature. 4. Added the display of the "current position in file" and "total file length" at the top of the mini-player and in Windows' Task Bar at the bottom of the screen. 5. Confirmed compatiblity with the new Infinity IN-USB2 Foot Pedal. 6. The User Manual now notes that to support the playback of some video files, the latest versions of "Windows Media Format Runtime" and "DirectX 9 Runtime" should be installed on the pc. __________________________________________________________________________________________ DigiScribe version 22.02.00 "Faster Refresh" 03/18/09 7pm 1. Dramatically increased the refresh rate of the Available and Completed work lists. File length data is now stored in the Work Pool path's /AuxFileData folder. Also added a "Clear Aux Data" key to the configuration menu to force the data to be recalculated, if desired. 2. Added "Browse" to files, handled outside of the file management system. This makes it easy to browse to files on a CD or DVD, on a Handheld Recorder or Memory Card, or across a Network. 3. Simplified the Dictation File Path settings. Now all compatible file types can be placed directly into one of the Work Pool paths. DSS and Transporter-DS2 files will be automatically sent to their respective conversion folders for conversion to wav files. 4. Refined the menus and labelling to improve the clarity of operation. Removed the legacy Import menu and its related Configuration (now called Toolbox) menu items. 5. Added "Cross References" feature into the Toolbox. This allows for labeling of Work and Dept Numbers to display their labels instead of their associated numbers. 6. Added a "Reference" key on the mini-player to allow the transcriptionist to change the displayed reference number. Up to 15 characters can be entered. 7. Added a "Change Wallpaper" feature to the File menu to change the mini-players wall- paper. 8. Fixed Runtime 384 "...can't be sized while minimized" that occurs if Auto Refresh is enabled and then occurs while DigiScribe is minimized to the taskbar. 9. Improved the "Prompt Volume" so it better adjusts the prompts and rewind/forward tones. 10. Improved the "Always on Top" now called "Show on Top of Other Applications" feature to help ensure that DigiScribe will show over other applications. 11. Added a "Test Connection" feature to the FTP Site Settings menu. 12. Added a feature to move non-audio and non-video files to the current Work Pool path's \NonAudioVideoFiles folder. 13. The "FTP Downloadable Work" menu (formerly the Ftp Menu) now automatically refreshes the list of files on the FTP site upon Connect, and if no files are found, now it does not automatically Disconnect. This allows the menu to stay open so Refresh can be pressed later to check for files again without having to re-connect first. Also added filters to allow the display of All Files, Priority Files, and WAV, MP3, and DSS/Transporter-DS2 file types. Also added an "MB" option to display each file's size and the total megabytes. 14. Added a "Files Processed" display to show the number of files processed during the Deletion of Old Completed Work, and during the refreshing of the Available Work and Completed Work lists. 15. Refined the labels of certain parameters in the Available Work and Completed Work Reports. 16. Added a "Remaining Length" counter to the mini-player and refined the mini-player's look. 17. Fixed the "Network Offline" message from being triggered if the conversion of a .eW2 file to a .wav file can not delete the original .eW2 file. Network Offline also now labelled Path Busy. 18. Refineed the \Files structure and place the dS2Queue, dssQueue, and FtpQueue file processing folders into a Files\PendingProcessing subfolder. 19. If a file is selected in the Available Work list that is not compatible and can not be played, the file is moved to the current Work Pool path's \IncompatibleFiles folder. 20. Fixed the "Work Pool Filter Definitions" Runtime error upon clicking its Copy feature. 21. Improved the "New Dictation Alert" feature to better inform when new dictation is available in the current Available Work list's Work Pool Filter's path. __________________________________________________________________________________________ DigiScribe version 22.01.04 "Video Transcription" 07/07/08 1210am 1. Fixed that in version 22.01.03 the DigiTel files that are missing the Reference data field in their file name would not show in the Available and Completed work lists. 2. Fixed that the "Already Running" message that is displayed when the user trys to run DigiScribe when it is already running, would not show that it referred to "DigiScribe". __________________________________________________________________________________________ DigiScribe version 22.01.03 "Video Transcription" 06/27/08 6pm 1. Added the capability to transcribe video files including AVI, MOV, MP4, and WMV. A video window is included, and freeze-frame snapshots (as .bmp bitmap files) can be saved. 2. Fixed that file playback would stop at 1 minute 40 seconds if Audio Preview was set to 0. 3. Fixed the double upgrade message. Now only the splash screen shows a second time during the second half of the upgrade process. 4. Fixed that sometimes the Dictation Time field in the Available Work or Completed lists would show an extra leading zero before the seconds (ex: 01:02:003). 5. Fixed the Pool2 default setting. 6. Upgraded to the latest Audio/Video Driver (version 5.0). 7. Changed "Standby" messages to "Wait". __________________________________________________________________________________________ DigiScribe version 22.01.02 "Speed Control Widened" 04/08/08 145pm 1. Widened the range of the speed control from +/- 5 to +/- 20. 2. Changed the Queue and Completed list's "System" field name to "File No." as it will show the File Number generated by DigiTel's version 24.00.00. 3. Added lables to the Status Bar's fields and added a File Number field. 4. Widened the range of the speed control from +/- 5 to +/- 20. 5. Changed the Complete key label to "Completed" and refined the wording of the View menu for added clarity (changed "Queue" to "Available Work (Queue)", "Completed" to "Completed Work", "Ftp" to "Ftp Menu", and "Import" to "Import Menu". 6. Fixed that play to the end of the file, then rewind would set the position-in-file hours:minutes:seconds display to the wrong value. 7. Refined the FTP display's status field to clearly show "No Files Found". 8. Added a label to the Pool Filter's drop-down box. Removed the sample pool filters and renamed the two default filters "DigiScribe InQueue Folder" and "DigiTel Dictation File Folder" for added clarity. __________________________________________________________________________________________ DigiScribe version 22.01.01 "Large File FTP Download fixed" 02/17/08 1205am 1. Fixed an error in version 22.01.00 that caused the following error message when downloading a wav file using the FTP feature if the file is greater than 21 Mbytes (that is, greater than 49 minutes) in length: a) "Run-time error '6': overflow". (This fix was tested by downloading a file 115 Mbytes (that is, 4.25 hours) in length.) 2. Fixed that sometimes playing to the end of file would not enable the Complete key. The Complete key is now enabled when the mini-player is active. 3. Improved the speed of refreshing the Queue list when Automatic Import is enabled. (If no files are available to import from the /ImportQueue directory or from its 25 subdirectories, the overall time to check these directories is reduced from 30 seconds to 1 second.) 4. A note about importing a very large DSS file. When importing a very large DSS file through an /ImportQueue directory, Windows may show DigiScribe as "Non-Responding" until the file is finished converting into a WAV file. When the conversion is complete, the Queue list will refresh and will include the converted file. On an Intel Pentium Duo Core 1.5 GHz Processor for example, a 10 MByte DSS file (which equates to 1.6 hours of dictation) will take 1.5 minutes to convert to a WAV file of 91 MBytes, (if the conversion rate set in DigiScribe's Configuration menu's Settings tab is set to 8 KHz. If set to 22 KHz for example, the conversion will take about 2.4 minutes). Such a large DSS file is unusual... typically a DSS file will contain just a few minutes of dictation and will convert to a WAV file in just a few seconds. 5. To improve ease of setup, the Full Installation now sets the Queue list's drop-down box to a default of "All DigiTel". This fitler setting looks for files from the "Pool 2" path whose new default is "C:\Apptec\DigiTel\Dictation Files". 6. Improved the Queue list's visual representation of a file that doesn't use the DigiTel file naming convention. a) When a generic WAV, MP3, or WMA file is placed into the /InQueue directory, instead of its Author field displaying "Unknown", its Author field now displays the first 14 characters of the file name (with any space or underscore characters changed to a dash). b) When a generic WAV, MP3, WMA, or DSS file is placed into the /ImportQueue directory or one of its subdirectories, if the Author Last Name associated with that directory (in the Import menu's Author Profile) is still at its default of "Undefined", when that file is imported, instead of its Author field displaying "Undefined", its Author field now displays the first 14 characters of the file name (with any space or underscore characters changed to a dash). 7. Added a descriptive message if "Connection Lost" during an FTP download, and if click "OK" DigiScribe will automatically restart. During an FTP download, the connection can be lost if trying to download a file that is still in the process of being uploaded to the FTP site. The new message informs the user to try FTP downloading again in a few minutes or to download less files or a different file. 8. Improved the operation of the mini-player's Position-In-File Slider so now it can be repositioned during Playback, and if repositioned from Stop it will now reinitiate playback from the new position automatically. __________________________________________________________________________________________ DigiScribe version 22.01.00 "Vista Compatibility" 01/29/08 130pm 1. The previous version 22.00.00 for Win2000 and XP may become unresponsive during playback when run under the Microsoft Vista operating system. This new version is Vista compatible. __________________________________________________________________________________________
